I loved the Rabbi’s words on the new year as a time of reflection. It now seems obvious to me what’s missing from the empty meme of New Year’s Resolutions: religion (or some kind of community). I also love that he’s immediately thinking in terms of “providing meaning” at the beginning of his sermons. The people got out of bed, got dressed, got the kids in the car, did everything else, and arrived at his sermon. He recognizes that and wants to deliver. Would love to hear him!!
Sorry for being this not-Jewish dude, but, it sounded like you guys were pronouncing it “Yom KIPPER”. Have I been saying it wrong my whole life?
